When The Path Isn't Clear
There are seasons when life asks us to live with questions. Those seasons can feel uncomfortable because we naturally want to know what comes next. We look ahead hoping the entire road will come into view. But we end up seeing nothing. Just a foggy mess.
I have experienced seasons like that in my own life. More than once, I reached a place where the direction ahead felt uncertain. Like everyone else, I was hoping to get immediate answers and found none. As I got older, I learned to use that time to find peace and reflect.
During that season, I began paying closer attention to what gave my life meaning. I self audit my life with extensive scrutiny and I think about the conversations that were pivotal in shaping my life.
During my most recent down season, I was able to combine all the aspects of my life that I love to create this space. It inspired my consulting work and the Yin Balance app. It gave me the freedom to write about the questions many of us may potentially carry.
I no longer believe that purpose arrives all at once. It unfolds little by little. Every season teaches us something about ourselves. Every experience shapes the person we are becoming. Looking back, I can see that the moments I once viewed as uncertain were helping me for the work I do today.
If your own path feels unclear, resist the urge to rush through it. Sometimes we rush, skip the purposeful reflection and end up worse off than before.
Pay attention to what continues to draw your heart. You are being asked to reflect and and sit with those questions until you find conviction.
